My students attend a Title I school in a small town. They range in abilities, backgrounds, personal experiences, interests, and world knowledge.
We are working, each year, on becoming more STEAM centered, allowing our students to really delve into the world of creation, experimentation, and teamwork.
We are a Leadership Model school where our students celebrate their voice, being proactive, think win-win, and developing a passion.
Our school is a family to our students that provides a quality education putting students first!
My Project
The students at our school will be taking part in a school wide reading of The Wild Robot. Since many of our students are reading and comprehending below grade level, we have decided to take part in this event.
Our desire is to create experiences across the curricular areas for students to engage in that relate to robotics.
We strongly feel that we are in the position to help show our students how meaningful science, technology, reading, arts, and math can be. The opportunities we can provide our students will help open their eyes to amazing things they can accomplish in their future.
Since the entire school will be reading the same book, we will be providing many different opportunities for our students to engage in the story. By having these robotics materials, our students will be able to understand the book on a whole different level, as well as understand the idea of robotics.
