Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Typically our students are from families that their parents do not have college degrees. The school is mainly low income students that will take college courses while earning their high school diploma. The students have signed on for a rigorous program that they are made to think beyond the typical concepts and apply that to real world situations.
Our students get excited when they learn things beyond the classroom.
They are inspired to push themselves to new levels while learning skills they can use.
My Project
My students will learn and design their own devises that will perform various tasks. Each Elegoo kit will allow a group of students to learn the basics of computing and electronics. Students will study from the books and hands on activities as they design robots or other projects of their choosing.
Most of these projects will be focused towards the students applying what they learn and build to an academic competition, like Science Olympiad, First Robotics, Science Fair, UIL Computer programming, etc.
The various sensors will allow the students to go in various directions with their projects. From designing robots to building sensors that perform specific tasks, each project will be unique and focused to the students abilities and interests.
