My Students

The library media center is a vibrant and evolving place that aims to be the hub of the school that touches upon all students and staff. We are an active place of learning and exploration.

We are the English Language Learner elementary school for the district and serve a diverse range of students.

To support that diversity and natural student energy, the library is very much alive. It is also not just about the books on the shelves or how we remember it as a child. The library is focused on exposing students to the positive and creative uses of technology. Our Makerspace is a new and growing section of the library where we foster hands-on learning.

My Project

Robotics and coding activities continue to draw in students who never could imagine themselves learning these skills. Dash and Dot from Wonder Workshop have become much loved members of the school library and are heavily used. Every period of the day, kids are asking to play together with the robots and learn new skills.

Art education is essential to our school learning.

Wonder Workshop now offers a sketch kit and whiteboard mat that will allow us to combine art and coding. Students will program the robots and physically see the results of their work on the whiteboard. This can be creative art projects as well as math based designs. This project will meet so many of our learning goals and truly can be completed by our entire community of diverse learners.
