Robotics with Purpose

My students need VEX IQ Robotics kits to learn about various types of robots, to design and build robots that can complete multiple task, and learn RobotC programming in order to successfully complete robotic goals.

My Students

Students in my room are eager to learn about technology. They think they know everything about it, but learn quickly that technology extends outside of the phone or controller in their hands. It is important to keep up to date on new technology and skills needed in our technical world.

When given the opportunity my students tackle learning new technology and STEM objectives with enthusiasm and passion.

Students in my room use newly learned concepts to create meaningful projects and practice problem solving in a technical world.

My Project

By incorporating VEX IQ Robotics into earlier grade levels, my goal is to not only expose students early to STEM concepts, but allow them to fully explore these concepts and innovate new solutions. Starting the the 7th grades students will learn how to use and program sensors and motors. Students will use the Engineering Process to design, develop, build, and test their robots. Not only can education be fun but it can be purposeful and meaningful. I want to show students that they can turn their passions into reality and be creators of new and innovative ideas as well as learning about possible future careers.
