I have an awesome, creative group of 3rd-grade students. They are curious and love exploring the world around them, but access to 21st-century technology is limited. They excel in everything hands-on and love learning new concepts.
Some of my students could be first-generation college students.
I want them to have the opportunity to learn 21st-Century skills such as coding and robotics early so they are prepared to compete in a global world. I want to give my students a chance to capture the world.
My Project
Giving my students the chance to work with robotics at an early age will give them first-hand knowledge of potential career paths. Most of our students have never been exposed to robotics due to inadequate financial stability. This would be the first for many of my students. This project includes LEGO kits, Augie the robot, and a MERGE cube.
This experience will give them a head start in becoming global learners and hopefully one-day global leaders.
Not only will they learn coding and programming skills, but they will be immersed in collaboration, communication, and digital literacy.
