Help me give my students a security system they design and implement in the real world.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our school is made up of about two thousand students. We have a mix of races and socioeconomic backgrounds. We also have a large military population, so many of our students come from a wide variety of educational experiences. Our school, teachers, and students work hard each day.
I teach about one hundred high school students each day.
The way the curriculum is set up, students don't receive a lot of self-guided instruction until they reach high school. I work hard to make sure that the students get as many hands-on experiences as possible. I want to help prepare them for college and life after school. I try to make my class fun and interesting for the students.
We are in need of the components for making a security system from a self-designed project. Our students are discovering how to raise money to design tools needed to improve our campus but we do not have the capability of printing the specialty parts we will need. Being able to record the process of design and messages to potential sponsors is vital to this need.
Allowing our students to create components from their own imaginations will better prepare them for the challenges of college and the real world.
This will also allow students to begin understanding the needed tools and supplies for basic project creation. These skills can be applied to many professional fields as they move on to college or seek out professional service jobs after high school.
