Imagine getting a chance to play at the Super Bowl but not having enough money to get there. My students are invited to compete at the FLL Robotics North American Championship Tournament. They are one of 72 teams from the entire continent who have been invited.
My students are competing in FLL robotics.
This great organization exposes students to the wonderful world of math, science, engineering and robotics. The team has worked very hard this year. They built and programmed an awesome robot. They meet several days a week for a couple of hours at a time.
The team won 2 trophies at a regional tournament and one trophy at the state tournament. The awards were for Best Robot Performance and Best Robot Design.
My students attend a Chicago public school and over 90% of the students qualify for free/reduced lunch. All of the robotics team members come from working class families.
Because of the high quality work they produce, they have been invited to attend the North American Championship Tournament. Only 72 teams from North America get an invitation. There are several hundred FLL teams just in Illinois and thousands across the continent. Please help my students be among the few who compete at this grand event.
With your help, my students' dreams will come true. They have worked very hard this year. So much so, that they have received an invitation to the FLL Robotics North American Championship Tournament. They deserve to attend. However, our school and their families cannot afford to fund the trip fully.
If they get a chance to go to the Championship Tournament, my students will meet and compete with the best teams from all over North America. In addition, my students will learn that hard work truly does pay off.
This is a once in a lifetime chance for the robotics team.
Please don't let this opportunity for our students go to waste. Help them to accept the invitation to compete with the 72 best teams from North America.
