Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my room are very diligent students who are constantly striving to gain new understanding and information. Many of them are second language learners and appreciate the benefits of attending a school where academics are of the highest priority. They are always seeking to gain new information and to learn new things. With responsibilities at home that limit their time to explore subjects and to master skills, they appreciate a classroom where they are given liberty to improve in all subject areas. The more materials in the classroom, which help in this area, the more they will learn and improve in all areas. Our school loves to facilitate learning. As their teacher, I want them to love to learn and have the confidence and self-motivation to strive for their best.
My Project
I have requested 3 Chromebooks to use in various ways in the classroom, but most importantly to use with Google Classroom, Coding, and Lego robotics. We will use the Chromebooks to allow students direct assess to various applications and lessons including Google Drive and Lego Robotics. It will allow for more practice and learning of computer programing (CODE). Math, language arts, and science lessons will be better experienced through this new medium. Also, with the mobility of the Chromebooks, students can use the technology for their own student lead projects anywhere in the classroom including small groups. We are in a new era of technology for all and I don’t want to limit my students’ accessibility.
Materials in my classroom are always utilized to their full potential and seeing the students use the Chromebooks for science, engineering, coding, language arts, and writing will make the lessons they are learning more meaningful than ever.
They are always working to do their best, and anything that would help them in this process is encouraged. I'm excited to see the use of this new technology.
