My students need to get an Ipad Pro to create robot frame in 3D apps! Ipad is a very critical tool to write the codes and programming for the robot!

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is a public-charter school in Cleveland/ OH. It is located high poverty district Eastside of Cleveland. Our students come from low-income families. They are having some struggles and challenges. Even many difficulties they face, I am very willing to help them to provide better education.

My students are smart, hardworking and engaged in technology.

They are in FTC robotics team. They love to create some ideas and apply these ideas into building the robot with using specific materials! They are always trying their best to improve their STEM skills that they will use in the future. Most of them want to have a dream job which is related to STEM field! Since our school in high poverty district, we don't have enough facilities and budget to buy all necessary robot parts( Field, Frame Materials, Electronic Parts and laptops or tablets for using programming ). Also, our student's socio-economic status is not quite bright. Many students are receiving free-lunch based on their low incomes. These challenges prevent them from being more creative and engaged in technology! We definitely need to support our students to learn more about STEM field specifically in robotics with providing robot materials and technologic tools.

My Project

One area my students struggle the most with is having the lack of facilities and robot materials! This problem is completely discouraging them to build the robot and practice robot! We definitely need an FTC robotics field the beginning of the season and a set of robot parts.Specifically, we need an Ipad Pro for programming and create a robot frame by using 3D apps. Because we need to create a robot in the 3D program in Ipad and working on programming codes in iPad! If my students get enough changes with technologic tools, they will be more inspired, engaged and focused to build a robot and improve their skills in STEM area.

In my robotics team, we are engaged, communicated and connected in today's technologic world!

They are planning to reach out the community to inspire young people!
