Our school is made up of about 2000 students. We have a mix of races and socioeconomic backgrounds. We also have a large military population, so many of our students come from a wide variety of educational experiences. Our school, teachers, and students work hard each day.
I teach about 100 high school students each day.
The way the curriculum is set up, students don't receive a lot of self-guided instruction until they reach high school. I work hard to make sure that the students get as many hands-on experiences as possible. I want to help prepare them for college and life after school. I try to make my class fun and interesting for the students.
My Project
We are in need of books that will help our students learn how to code using Arduino platforms and some motivational posters to make the classroom appear more STEM focused. This will help keep the students motivated to move forward and keep trying to conquer the challenging aspects of robotics.
Allowing students to create robots from their own imaginations will better prepare them for the challenges of college and the real world.
This will also allow students to begin understanding the needed tools and supplies for basic robot creation. These skills can be applied to many professional fields as they move on to college or seek out professional service jobs after high school.
