Ms. Borngesser from Fayetteville GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need Lego Education's Wedo Robotics kit, the resource kit (additional building options), and the software that programs the robotics to come to life.

In today's ever-changing world, our students need opportunities that make them competitive and marketable to colleges and in their future careers. My goal is for my students to experience and become comfortable with 21st Century technology and become aware of all of their future career options.
We are a Title I school with a large population of students requiring free and reduced lunches.
Our students don't always get the opportunity to experience 21st Century Technology and are not always exposed to careers that are available today. I teach gifted students, tomorrow's future leaders, and I want my students to be able to experience the coding and engineering opportunities that Lego provides with their robotics products.
My students will work together to develop a plan for building a robot with anticipated movements. Through the development process, students will discover what works and what doesn't. Employing an engineering mind-set of perseverance and creative problem-solving, students will then have the opportunity to re-develop their initial plans and create a new design that works better. This is a multi-step, revolving process that will have students not only understanding how to engineer and code, but also how to think like an engineer, redesign and persevere.
By donating to this project, students will have a unique opportunity otherwise not afforded to them.
My students will have the opportunity to explore careers generally out of their current scope of understanding and personal experience. This will give my students more confidence by being leaders in their schools, developing working knowledge of 21st Century skills.
