I teach students who LOVE TO LEARN! They walk in each morning with smiles on their faces. They have such a wonderful attitude towards learning and are eager to learn and grow!
I teach in a Title 1 school with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch!
Our ELL population is growing every day. The students I teach face many challenges outside of school but come every day with such a love for learning!
I am writing this grant in hopes of bringing much needed technology/coding to my classroom. Today's generation is ALL ABOUT TECHNOLOGY! I would love to bring robotics into the classroom and make learning fun! There are so many incredible early learning robots out there that would benefit my students! Please help me engage today's children so they can be our future leaders of America!
My Project
CODING is the future for today’s kids. Currently, there are over 500,000 job openings in computer science, in every industry and every state. Women who simply try AP Computer Science in High School are ten times more likely to major in it. Black and Hispanic students are seven times more likely. Additionally, a computer science major can earn 40% more than the average college graduate.
So what does that mean for us?
It means that lighting that coding spark for our young children now can open countless doors of opportunity for new hobbies, interests, and even potential careers.
If robotics = optimal student engagement, then why not incorporate them into other subject areas too?! The coding bots can be used in Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies.....ALL SUBJECTS!
