My students need Robotics and Things Educational Set #4, 5 Light Units, and 2 High Speed Motors. This modual building system will allow students to create and build.
Imagine you are given a small tub of building materials- wheels, motors, cables, and plastic parts that connect to one another. Your teacher asks you to build a robot that will pick up a film canister. That is one of the many tasks my students will be able to accomplish with Robotics in our class.
I am interested in using the Robotics Modular Building System at school.
They are a wonderful teaching tool for students. Not only are Robotics engaging, they allow students to learn through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). With the high poverty rate and large ESOL (English as a Second Language) population here at my school, I know my students would benefit from the Robotics curriculum while taking part in a Robotics Club. My students will be able to learn about machines by connecting high-speed and low-speed motors to form jaws, wheels, arms and much, much more.
My Project
With the Robotics materials requested in this grant I will be able to teach hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum to my students. Here are the materials that come with Educational Set #4- ROBOTIX Teacher's Guide Volume 1- The Science of Robotics & Volume 2- Adventures in Math, Science & Technology with (300+ Pages for both Teacher's Guides), Over 450 Universal ROBOTIX Parts, 2 - Wireless Robot Control Units (27 MHz & 49 MHz), 2 - Robot Controller Set, 2 - Robot Receiver Set, 1 - Instruction Manual, 2 - Robot Control Label Sheets, 18 - 1-Switch Controllers (Power Droid), 20 - Motors (15 High Speed, 5 Low Speed), and 22- Power Cables (Yellow, Black & Blue "T"). I am also requesting two additional high speed motors and 5 light units. Robotics and Things Company has written me a quote for all of these materials that will allow us to get these materials for a discount of 35 percent. This allowed us to save on the total order.
When I look back on my own school days I can remember the times I was able to create, experiment, build, and develop my own ideas.
With your help my students will be able to get a wonderful classroom set of Robotics modular building supplies. Thank you for your consideration to donate to our Robotics Club and open up a new world of possibilities to my students.
