My Project

My students are in the second through fourth grades. They come from a variety of different socioeconomic statuses and home experiences. For some, school is their only safe place to try, fail, and try again. In my classroom, I encourage each risk they take, as it offers a new opportunity to learn.

They are explorers.

They are curious. They are bright and intuitive. They are eager to learn about robotics and how they can help shape the future!

These tools will facilitate hands-on learning and creative thinking skills in the classroom. In the classroom, my students are always fully engaged and excited when I present them with STEAM challenges. Using the Engineering Design Process in the classroom, allows and even encourages students to learn from mistakes. The critical thinking skills acquired while problem-solving serve students well in other classes and in real life.

My students have been asking me to teach them robotics. To date, we have only been able to scratch the surface with non-motorized lessons that only touch on the mechanics. This will allow them to take robotics to the next level.

We were recently blessed with a used 3D printer, but no filament. My students are entrepreneurs and want to offer personalized keychains to our staff. These supplies would allow them to give that a try.
