Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Welcome to my virtual classroom, full of anxious and excited students ready to tackle the new school year. Many of my students reside in government assisted housing and do not get a chance to enjoy many of the basic enjoyments life has to offer.

My current students are first and third graders that are below level in reading and math.

I also teach grades 3-5 after school coding and computer science.

Although my students come from a very low income community, the excitement for learning remains crisp in the air! Regardless of socioeconomic background, our school strives for educational excellence for the betterment of our students.

My Project

With these robots I can develop my students' problem solving skills in a fun, engaging, 21st century way. With these tools my kids will be able to create lines of code that not only play out on a computer monitor, but will make the robots move and complete tasks. My students, at this time, do not have access to much technology other than a computer at school. I want to expose my students to new things and broaden their outlook on the world. My students, even at this young age already have the mindset that they can't succeed I want to prove to them in a fun interactive way that they can do anything.
