Help me give my students 5 Botley Coding Robots with engaging accessories, and clear playing mats, to make our math games require more higher level thinking and problem solving.
Our Title I school serves mainly military families. We are a very transient school, with families frequently moving in and out of the state and country. Our students often have one parent deployed or away working with the military.
My students are excited about the class and have an innate need to learn all that they can absorb.
They come to school every day with excitement in their eyes, wondering what amazing things they will learn that day. Elementary teaches the foundations and gives the students opportunities to grow and become amazing adults. This is a very important year for all students.
My Project
Let's make math more engaging, while requiring higher level thinking! These Botley Coding Robots will be an exciting STEM math station where students will work in pairs to challenge each other in math facts, promoting their number sense.
Everyone loves robots, so lets use them to promote our learning.
Botley will be used on the playing mats to solve problems presented by other students. As one student calls out a math fact, the other will have to code Botley to drive to the correct answer.
Botley will also be used with accessories, where students can set up a maze and challenge their friends. While coding through the maze, students will have to avoid some obstacles, while using other accessories to help them complete the tasks required by their partner.
Botley is a coding robot with endless possibilities. Students will learn the basic functions of coding, while having fun and enhancing their math fluency. Please help our class obtain these robots.
