Help me give my students the tools they need for a STEAM education above no other. They will use their Chromebooks (docked with a monitor) to code and work with tools they never thought possible.
GMS students are some of the best students there are. They are intuitive, inquisitive, and very eager to learn new things and explore their knowledge in new ways. Students at GMS love building things and creating a product in order to achieve a goal. We are expanding our STEAM program with more materials, a computer lab (to dock Chromebooks) within the Innovation Lab, and more 3D printers. Big things coming to GMS. We are looking now at obtaining robotic equipment for students.
While I personally teach 50 students or so, this project would benefit the whole GMS family as teachers will be able to rent out the space anytime.
We are in need of more materials, devices, and abilities to house any and all technology in the Innovation Lab. This is the central technology hub for the building. Teachers will be allowed to use this space as they can signup to come into the Innovation Lab as a place to remove students from the classroom into a more Makerspace atmosphere.
My Project
With GMS implementing a new era of STEAM education at our school and completely recreating our Innovation lab, this is one of the many stations that will be available to students. They will be able to code on their Chromebooks that are connected to monitors for more space to work. Students love creating and seeing the outcome of their work. The Innovation Lab will be open to all classrooms and available for teachers to sign out times to come up and work in a different, unique space. As Graham Middle School moves to improving the education for all of our students, we are working to recreate a unique space in our building.
