Help me give my students a universal playing field for Computer Science. When programming and coding the Bolt robot, students will work together collaboratively irregardless of personal backgrounds to solve common challenges!
I am a Computer Science CTE teacher, and I teach students in grades 6-8. My students face many challenges every day. Our CTE program looks for ways to create hands-on, interactive learning experiences for my students. They are eager to learn, and when given the opportunity they love to find ways to think critically, implementing hands-on projects and technology to solve problems.
My students learn best by sitting in the driver's seat and taking control of their own learning!
They are now taking their knowledge one step further and are creating lessons for students in lower grades to inspire them to love learning and Computer Science too! They are becoming our leaders of tomorrow!
My Project
Throughout my years of teaching, I have learned that the best way to level the playing field for all levels of learners is to create meaningful hands-on instruction. In our rural community, we have many diverse learners from many backgrounds, but we are limited on how we can reach them by our resources. With the help of grants like this, that will not be the case!
When programming and coding Sphero Bolt robots, students will work together collaboratively to solve common challenges!
It doesn't matter what their abilities are or what diverse backgrounds they come from. They can take all of these differences and use them to find new and innovative ways to solve problems and challenges in Computer Science. All students can come together, problem solve, and speak code, with a common goal in mind! They will make new personal connections through educational goals!
