Help me give my students the opportunity read about successful women in STEM careers while developing their coding skills using the CUE robots for the ultimate hands-on experience.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our enthusiastic middle school scholars come from 8 different elementary schools in the district with diverse cultural backgrounds. They have just enough sass, great energy, and a desire to learn which will pave the way for future success.
To fully begin the second half of their school experience they need exposure to many diverse careers and stories about experiences in the STEM field.
My Project
With the pandemic, we have learned that science, innovation, and thinking out of the box can be more than a valuable asset, it can be life-change and possibly life-saving. This project will introduce middle school scholars to famous women who have made a difference in STEM fields to inspire them to dream big and to plan for their future career paths.
Using the vast resources of the If/Then collection, students will research women in the STEM field and create a project using the 5Es research model and coding skills they learn to demonstrate a scientific concept.
Coding is at the heart of all things in our modern world, so our scholars will have an opportunity to use the robots to practice Java script to navigate through a project-based activity.
