My Students
Imagine walking into a locker room with one of your favorite sports teams pumped to win the championship! Working with my 5th graders is like working with a team of champions ready to master skills presented to them ! Each day my students bring with them a piece of joy to our classroom adventures! They are challenged to explore new resources and strategies to prepare them for success in Reading, Science and Social Studies. They enjoy expressing what they've learned through collaborative conversations, project based learning, STEM, or any other interactive activities. We often have Table Talks that result in great discussions. Their motivation to be the best students that they could possibly be motivates me to research and implement the best practices to keep them highly motivated to learn! Our future looks bright with these Champion Students!
My Project
Help me give my students the "Green Room" experience as we create and facilitate the "ROAR News Room," a broadcasting room for 5th grade students. Students will learn the art of public speaking and technology through this STEM program. 5th grade students will be able to record school announcements and weather reports that can be accessed in classrooms through teachers' google accounts or thumb drives. Some benefits of this program will be:
1 Develop good speaking habits
2. Build confidence speaking in public
3. Learn about teamwork between other reporters and crew members
4. Learn how to operate programs for broadcasting
5. Learn about recording apps compatible to Apple products and Chromebooks.
