Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in an urban city, Title I school where all my student are English Language Learners, and come from low socioeconomic families, and receive free lunch.

Due to their low socioeconomic status, many of them are performing below grade level expectations. They do not have any books at home to read. They have a low self-esteem, and some of them are at risk of developing behavior problem.

The Time For Kids magazine will give my students an opportunity to get exposed to variety of topics, motivate them toward learning and improve their reading, writing, and math skills. With the help of this magazine, my students' test scores will improve dramatically. Their self-esteem will improve, and they will become enthusiastic learners.

They can take the magazines home and read it to their family members, and help them to learn English, and help their younger siblings to become interested toward learning as well.
