My classroom will consist of K-2 special education students. They have a variety of disabilities, but that never holds them back from giving their best effort each and every day. They are brilliant, creative, loving, and supportive of one another.
My students will be shown that they are capable of doing anything they put their mind to if they work at it.
Some struggles that need to be worked on with my students are fine motor skills, communication skills, and enhancing their abilities to be closer to grade level.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of materials that will make a huge impact in my students learning. My school has a high poverty rate, therefore my students are not given much access to extra tools that will allow them to excel. My students needs are very high and it is my job to provide them with the best possible education that I can give them.
My students are willing to put the effort in to make me proud.
The larger pencils will be a great asset for the students who struggle with fine motor. I have requested materials like sensory sand and beads that have a lot to do with sensory needs and fine motor needs. I have a few students that are limited with verbalization, so having manipulative and physical objects is very important.
