Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a Title I School in CA with students who are hardworking and motivated to learn. My students are energetic and competitive and full of many strengths and focus on kindness and respect. They are at a variety of levels and are focused on being successful learners.
We are a TK-6 School filled with amazing students and are committed to personalized learning and ensuring that every student succeeds and meets their own personal goals and showcases their strengths.
My Project
A sacred time of the day is our read aloud time. These books will add another adventure for my class to embark on together. We have read an excerpt of WInn Dixie earlier this year and they will love to explore the journey of a boy and his quest to escape the entrapments and cages of his life.
With these new books, my students will be able to share a book together that will cause them to make connections to their lives as well as instill a love of books and reading.
As a class the read alouds we share join us together and allow us to experience shared stories and reactions as an exciting part of our school day. Students love listening to the stories as well as reading along and being able to make predictions and use their inference skills. This book is so rich with symbolism and will allow them to talk with eachother and connect with the characters. Thank you for supporting my classroom and students.
