Our transient school population is a Title I School with over sixty percent of students receiving free or reduced-price lunches.
Many of our students come from military families and relocate often. Most students do not have access to a variety of instruments at home, but they love making music in the classroom. They are eager to learn every day. They ask thoughtful questions and work together to synergize and make great music!
My Project
My students need handbell mallets for our brand new 4th and 5th grade handbell performing group. Handbells are a wonderful and beautiful way to make music together. Handbells teach cooperation, interdependence, coordination, and music theory. It's a great precursor to performing groups like band and choir. My students are so excited to start learning about handbells, but we need the resources to get our performing group started!
By donating to this project students will be able to become a community of musicians.
Our classroom environment will improve because we will all have the resources to make music together. True teamwork at its finest.
