My name is Miriam Ramirez and I am a kindergarten teacher.
I spent this past year adjusting to the drastic change that comes from teaching 6th and 7th graders to teaching Kindergarten!
It was no easy feat. Kindergarten teachers are truly warriors in the education community. It takes a lot of patience and meticulous planning to mold the minds of these young people. My favorite part of this change is literally seeing their brains grow! It is the coolest thing ever to take a student who may know a few letters and sounds to reading and writing meaningful material. My students are so smart and eager to learn.
I made it through my first year with minimal resources for my classroom. I didn't have cool seating or decorative rugs that make classrooms very cozy. Furnishing a classroom can take a lot of money from a teacher's pocket and I chose to spend my money last year on reading and writing supplies, books, and new wall anchor charts for my new classroom. I am asking your help to make my next year's classroom more suited for kindergarten. Please consider helping our classroom more functional and even more fun!
My Project
My vision is to have a colorful, energetic look that will excite my students for learning. I want them to take pride in our classroom, the place where we spend so much of our time each and every day. Incorporating flexible seating is a fun way to incorporate choice and self-regulation.
A safe and comfortable classroom will inspire brain growth and will allow my students to be more productive in their learning process.
