Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are eager to learn and to make the world a better place. Because our schools are small-by-design, it allows students to discover their abilities, embrace their talents and explore their passions. We recognize individual differences and encourage students to be responsible learners in the classroom, school and community. A strong belief that my students and I focus on, is that by building communication skills, nurturing leadership opportunities and collaboratively working to resolve problems productively, our students can change the world and the future.
Strong collaboration between teachers, students, families and community members ensures students maximize achievement through ongoing examination of instructional practices.
School staff and families communicate on a consistent basis regarding culture and climate, behavior and progress.
Students experience community-building opportunities throughout the academic day and come together for team-building, sharing of successes and academic support. Our dedicated adults in our community encourage students to understand and practice positive behaviors that will support them throughout their lifetime.
My Project
Our Cougars are full of energy and love learning! They are problem solvers and critical thinkers who have a wide range of abilities, interests and skills.
Our school is always buzzing with young leaders looking for ways to make the world a better place.
Character traits, which we nurture, include Responsibility, Integrity, Perseverance and Compassion. Students encourage each other to do their best, and proactively look for ways to further their learning.
The “Ride the Wave to Success” Project
This will be a special read aloud to support young minds in resolving conflicts productively and building relationships making a difference in the future!
This special read aloud brings many guest readers from all over.
Students will not only strengthen problem solving and communication skills, but also enhance other skills that are needed in the 21st century such as critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. Our participation in this project will provide a chance for students and adults to make connections, build relationships, and engage in conversations celebrating Colorado Conflict Resolution Month. We believe that here at Clayton Partnership we can all “Ride the Wave to Success!”
