My students need dissection material to help learn about the internal structures of animals and learn how the tissues and organs are interrelated. Gives students an appreciation of the complexity of organisms in a hands-on experience.
My 6th & 7th grade students are curious and creative problem solvers who make insightful observations as they engage with and learn from each other. My K-8 school of about 700 students is located in sunny Arizona. We are dedicated to significantly improving student achievement in the basic skills of reading, writing, math and science.
Our students are always eager to learn and explore.
My hope is to develop independent thinkers, foster critical thinking and encourage green lifestyle. I am provided with basic teaching resources but always look for ways to make learning more engaging and relevant.
My Project
Dissection is also important because it: Helps students learn about the internal structures of animals. It also helps students learn how the tissues and organs are interrelated. Dissection gives students an appreciation of the complexity of organisms in a hands-on learning environment.
One reason frogs are often chosen to be dissected is that their bodies provide a good overview of the organ systems of a complex living thing.
... The organs present in a frog, and the way they are laid out in the body, are similar enough to humans to provide insight for students about how their bodies work. In addition to learning about themselves, students can learn about ecology and evolution through frog dissection.
