Help me give my students the tools that will be used to help them read. We just finished analyzing our literacy data and many of our students are stuck on Rhyming.
Ms. J. and I are co-teaching in an inclusion classroom. We are new to this school and are working on creating an environment that meets the needs of all of our children. Currently, 92% of our students receive free or reduced lunch, nearly 65% of our students have disabilities, 75% are dual language learners and the majority are from different ethnic backgrounds. Our current literacy data shows that our kids are struggling with rhyming and blending sounds which is holding them back from moving forward with reading.
My Project
These materials will help us with teaching rhyme, alliteration and training their ear to hear sounds. We just finished analyzing our data and rhyming is an area where our students are struggling the most. We are finding that in order for us to help our children learn to read, we need to focus on rime. We need materials that will allows us to teach rime in a fun and engaging way. By having these additional resources it would make all the difference when guiding our small groups. We currently have very limited material which most is missing pieces. Your help would be appreciated.
