My students need materials, puzzles, pocket charts, sorting boards, for our learning centers that reinforce word building, phonemic awareness, rhyming and other basic beginning reading skills.
Learning to read can be frustrating and monotonous for playful, energetic little bodies! I want our learning centers to be exciting and fun so my little ones develop a love for learning to read.
I teach in a rural school district in Oklahoma.
My classroom is filled with vibrant, energetic, fun-loving five and six year old kindergarten students! These little ones love to learn while playing, and boring pencil and paper activities just won't do! Since we are an all day Kindergarten class, it is important to keep the energy and love of learning flowing all day long!
My Project
These requested materials will be used for our learning centers each week. They will build phonemic awareness, word building skills, sounding-out-word techniques, letter combination knowledge, word sorting proficiency and other basic pre-reading abilities of the students.
Young children have very short attention spans and lots of energy!
It is so important that I try hard to make learning fun and feel like play. This donation of magnetic manipulatives will greatly improve our kindergarten center time and make learning kindergarten skills fun and exciting!
