My Project

I teach math intervention at an inner-city school. My students often start the day early, long before school begins, and tend to run down before lunchtime. They work super hard and they are excited and eager to learn. Many don't have all the required supplies, struggle with transportation, or miss classes due to other obligations. I strive to find ways to make their day better. We work together to develop the social and academic skills that will enable them to excel in and out of the classroom.

My students spend a lot of time working independently using online programs - it is important that they can earn incentives THEY chose... this helps keep them motivated!

I encourage my students to work together to overcome academic and personal challenges, emphasizing teamwork, and other traits most likely to help them in the classroom and in their future.
