Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a third grade class in the South Bronx. My students are motivated to learn, but most of them are easily distracted, and some of them exhibit disruptive behavior which impacts on the overall learning environment. I use behavior modification to get them to stay on task and to stay focused. I do not only reinforce good behavior and work habits verbally, but I use tangibles as well. I am asking to be funded for gifts that I will be able to use to reward my students positively. The students respond positively when they are rewarded and I know that these gifts such as pencils, erasers, stickers, etc. will excite them and help them respond positively academically, as well as improve their behavior. Thus, the children will achieve success and feel good about themselves. The positive reinforcement will help make our classroom a better place for learning. Please help my 22 third graders realize that positive behavior will always be rewarded.
