Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For many of my students this is their first school experience. As kindergarteners they are not only learning math, reading, and writing but also many social skills. Many of my students come from low income families and as such receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch. My students come to school everyday wanting to learn and to become a learner for life. Everyday there is a smile on their faces as they prepare to start their day. I do my best to support this so that they can become life long learners.
My Project
I would like to get various rewards to motivate and reward my students for all of their hard work. For many of my students kindergarten is their first experience as they were unable to go to preschool. Not only are they learning academics but social skills as well. The treasure chest will be used to reward students for having an over the top fantastic day with following the rules and procedures. The sticker charts are used to reward students to complete given tasks. Once filled they earn a prize. The stickers are needed to use on the sticker chart. Finally my students love smelly stickers. It is a huge motivation when I have them out to hand to students following the rules and expectations of the classroom as well as rewarding those that are working hard.
