Help me give my students rewards for their positive behaviors in our school and creating a rewarding educational setting. Students use school bucks to buy rewards such as pop its, stress balls, water bottles, and stuffed animals.
The students at my middle school have been majorly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, many have missed out on much of the middle school experience due to restrictions. We want to bring energy and curiosity back to their time here with us.
Our students are resilient, enthusiastic, and strong advocates for their needs.
They are learning to create relationships, responsibility, and possibility for their futures. They celebrate diversity and work to create an inclusive school environment for themselves and their peers.
Our students come from varying backgrounds, supports, and needs. Many taking on responsibilities at home with siblings or grandparents. Allowing them a space at school to be a kid and focus on themselves is a gift and a joy for them. Our teachers love and care about each student and our students show their love and care for teachers.
My Project
These materials will help our students learn through encouraging positive behaviors such as completing work, creating a conducive learning environment, and desire to be in school. Students earn Bighorn Bucks for many positive behaviors including but not limited to, completing assignments, participating in class, helping others, completing a good deed, and following direction. Students are then able to use their collected bucks to purchase items for themselves or as gifts for friends and family at the Student Store.
With these items, you will not only allow students an opportunity to be rewarded for their hard work, you will help create an engaging, creative, and positive learning environment.
We have seen a tremendous increase in student engagement at the school through this reward system. Students are excited to work toward the rewards of the store. The store also provides its own learning experience. Students learn budgeting through saving bucks for big prizes or how to manage funds to buy and save. Students identify supply and demand as items sell out or prices increase.
It is a joy to be able to provide a positive incentive for students of all backgrounds to engage and enjoy the pleasures of being a kid.
