My students need a variety of texts that appeal to all different reading levels. Having a new leveled library will make it easy for students to find their "just right" leveled text within the classroom.
My students are the best! They come from difficult home lives and look forward to being at school. They come to school every day excited and ready to learn, and continuously put forth their best effort on a daily basis.
My students have a variety of learning styles and needs, and they benefit from working hands on in small groups.
They love to learn and explore new topics and ideas. They enjoy doing projects and activities that require them to move around the room. My co teacher and I use flexible seating, allowing our students opportunities to get up from their desks and work in areas around the classroom.
My students work hard every day, and constantly inspire me. They persevere through challenges and adversities whether they are academic or personal. They show kindness and respect toward one another. They deserve the best opportunities in their education, and I work hard every day to provide them with these opportunities.
My Project
Revving up my classroom library has always been a goal of mine. As a special education teacher, my students are reading at a variety of different levels, and it's important to have a classroom library that reflects all levels. This leveled library set will provide students with a variety of engaging texts, while making it easy for them to find their "just right" leveled text in the classroom. Students love to visit the classroom library and look forward to independent reading time. Providing them with a wider array of options will add to their excitement and will allow each student to participate in independent reading by reading a text at their independent level.
