My fifth-grade students are amazing. My students come to school every day ready to learn and willing to work hard. My class is made up of many different needs, including students with special needs, limited language acquisition, and high achieving needs. My students work hard every day to succeed. We use many different techniques to achieve success, and many of these techniques are thanks to DonorsChoose.

My Project
I am so excited to begin teaching the American Revolution to my fifth graders. It's my favorite historical time period, and I believe that it's such an important event to teach.
My students need the American Revolution Resource Box from Lakeshore.
This resource is awesome! It includes secondary sources, images, maps, and even a game. My students will use these resources to break apart and understand why the Americans wanted and achieved gaining freedom.
We also need some fresh supplies in our classroom. Having new pencils, whiteboard markers, and whiteboard erasers would keep my supply cabinet full for the rest of the year. We use the pencils for EVERYTHING, and I even call my students pencil eaters because we use them so fast. Our whiteboard accessories are mostly used during math.
