My students are from a small rural community East of Indianapolis. My students are fun and creative 4-5 year olds. I love his particular age because of their real enthusiasm for learning. I love that they learn something new everyday and I get to see those light bulbs burning bright. Each student is so unique. Each one is different and special. I love that I get to share a part in their life and one of their first school experiences and memories.
My Project
I am sure all of us have special memories of playing with our friends at recess. We want to help our preschoolers build these same special memories with their friends by offering them a large variety of activities at recess.
My preschoolers are noticeably more engaged in their academic activities and less disruptive or aggressive with their peers when they are given active outdoor or indoor experiences.
The playground balls, frog catching game, fishing game, bowling game, and sand and water table will be made available outdoors or indoors to ensure that recess is fun and runs smoothly day to day. The variety of activities will give children a chance to choose to play alone or with others in physical ways.
We want physical activity to be a part of their lives forever, so we are setting the stage for them.
We want them to be life long physical people. Physical activity will help them reduce childhood diabetes, childhood obesity, and many other health issues. Ultimately, we want to be a large part of their childhood memories.
