When learning's the aim providing my students with supplies needed is my aim! I teach kindergartners all subjects in a high-need community. I enjoy teaching and try to provide students with activities and resources not otherwise available to them in their homes or our community.
Building a solid foundation for early stages of reading and writing in kindergarten has become very important for student success. Though I have some books in my classroom for my students to look at during independent reading time, the majority of them are too hard for them to read. The leveled books I currently have are minimal are are falling apart.
When practicing writing skills, the students are currently using broken dry erase boards with sharp edges creating a safety issue. We use the dry erase boards three to five times a week when practicing writing and literacy activities. New boards would be greatly appreciated.
I would like leveled readers to add to my reading area so the students have the opportunity to read at their own level. Providing the students with the resources needed to improve their reading fluency will help them become better readers in the long run.
I would like new dry erase boards so my students can practice early writing skills safely. I will have to dispose of the dry erase boards I currently have as I feel they will not be safe for my upcoming kindergarten class. Without the boards it will be hard for the students to practice the writing and literacy skills I currently teach using the boards.
Your help and support would be greatly appreciated from both the students and me as we would have new books and dry erase boards to practice our reading and writing skills. By receiving the listed objects I will be able to better serve my students and put a smile on their face as they learn new concepts using the resources only generous donors like you could provide for us!
