I teach in a high poverty/low-income school district. About seventy-six percent of my students are in single-parent homes or are living with grandparents.
My students are excited about learning!
We work as a team to ensure that everyone is successful. My students are so excited about learning and I want to encourage that. The academic ability's range from the majority been average with a few on the upper end of the scale and several on the lower end of the scale.
My Project
I use task cards to review concepts and assess student learning. The card stock requested for this project will be used to make the task cards. I use card stock to make the task cards because they will last for about 4 to 5 years. So students for several years will benefit from this project. I also use the permanent markers on the task cards because they will not fade over time. The task cards contain information that the students read and then they have to respond with an answer or explain the concept to someone else. The task cards allow the students to get up, move around, and have fun, while reviewing science concepts. It also helps me as a teacher, to assess their strengths and weaknesses so I can assist them as needed.
