My Students

As a middle school science teacher, I believe that my students deserve to experience learning science in innovative, creative ways. During this time in the world, education is being re-imagined, and we are finding new ways to engage, inspire, and motivate our students to learn and grow into their purpose.

Many of my students are classified as economically disadvantaged, yet they are eager to know what exciting activities they will experience in science class each day.

Although I do not have control over circumstances they may be experiencing outside of school, I know that I can make a difference by providing them with engaging, innovative, and real-world applications and activities in my classroom each day.

My students come to my class with different science experiences and backgrounds, and many are faced with barriers such as learning disabilities, language barriers, or lack of experiences and exposure to engaging science investigations and the use of technology. Regardless of these barriers, I am challenged with the responsibility of making sure each individual student receives the best learning experience so that they can be prepared for their next level of learning and their future careers.

My Project

My students love student directed learning activities. This project will allow me to purchase interactive tasks from The Science Duo for 6th and 8th graders to review concepts previously taught.

This resource is an excellent student directed component that will allow students to assess and evaluate their understanding.

I am interested in resources from The Science Duo which are interactive and engaging. These resources support the state standards for Texas and my students enjoy using them.

Teaching multiple grade levels is challenging, but having resources available for students to work through independently and assess their own learning in a fun way is a win-win for us all.
