My students need 6 Jenga game sets and 2 Pie Face Showdown games in order to participate in some engaging review games. The spray paint will be used on the Jenga pieces.
My students are in first grade. If you walked into my classroom you would see that it is filled with eager learners who come in each day ready to learn in new and different ways. My students love to be challenged and strive to grow every day.
In my first-grade classroom, every student is valued and brings something special to our room.I love being part of a classroom where the students feel like school is their second home and a place where they treat each other like family.
My Project
I am in need of some new review games. Many times I have reviewed skills with my class using paper and pencil or with whiteboards and markers. After attending The Ron Clark Academy I decided I needed to go bigger-- my kids need me to go bigger. I decided I would start trying to make everything I do in my classroom more engaging. My kids are more likely to remember and enjoy the lesson when I have Set The Stage to Engage. I want to use Jenga games as part of a review lesson. I will use the spray paint to spray the Jenga pieces to match a review question. When they pull the Jenga piece out they will have to answer that review question before moving on. This idea will have every student engaged and working hard to review the skills that I have already taught. These games will also be able to be reused over and over in the future. I will also use the game Pie Face Showdown to help me create a fun review. I will have students use this game to encourage participation and whoever wins will go up against me, the teacher, in a Pie Face Showdown!
