Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 25 enthusiastic learners that love learning! We are a Title I school in a low socioeconomic neighborhood with limited resources. 100% of our students receive free lunches. The majority of my students are English Language Learners with a lot of curiosity and great ideas. They come from hard-working families that have at least two jobs. My students need the right resources and tools to help them master the academic standards in all areas and become successful scholars. Many of my students lack the much-needed resources to start the school year off right as well as necessary materials to complete assignments/projects at home.
My Project
My students come from a Title 1 school, where 100% of the students receive free lunch daily. They look forward to creating and participating in projects, yet lack the financial resources to make their boards visually appealing. I am asking for a Cricut machine, so that they can further develop their 21st century technology skills and go beyond letters and tiles, but manipulate the images through the computer.
The use of the Cricut will connect content with all learning styles to develop computer skills, spatial thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The Cricut in my classroom will integrate their content knowledge and allow them to creatively display their work onto boards. Students will be proud to have a visual representation and demonstrate ownership of their learning.
