Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous.
They are environmentalist and participate on Earth patrol for the entire school. We make a difference in our environment daily.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
We are going to learn to recycle, reuse, and reduce. My students are learning to keep our planet greener. It's important for everyone to learn to reuse a recycle water bottle when going to different places. I am planning on taking our water bottles to all our field trips and during class so they are able to drink more water since it's getting hot. Our classroom helpers will receive a recycle water bottle to take with us on our field trips and during classroom. We love to encourage our helpers and students to reuse their water bottles.
They are going to have a unique opportunity to inspire their parents to use recyclable water bottles at home.
It's important to learn the 3 "R's" in order to conserve our environment. We live really close to the ocean and it's necessary for them to take care of their environment. We would love your support to learn how to take recycling to make our Earth a nicer place.
