Every year brings a new class of bright, inquisitive minds that invigorate my passion for teaching. Children love to be engaged in learning and collaborating with their peers, their school, and the community, and I am thrilled to be an integral part of that. My students come from a revitalized area of Charlotte with a small neighborhood school of one teacher per grade level, up to 5th grade. This year, our class will be the fourth class to "graduate" from our school, which had been closed for many years. The students are anxious to be back to in-person learning, and as a teacher returning to the profession after 15 years, I am eager to provide them with the best experience possible.
Help me recreate an inviting and functional classroom environment as I return to this fulfilling profession!
A bright, organized, and inviting classroom is key to engaging students in learning.
Our classroom needs supplies to create a space that is organized and meaningful for learning.
Most of my requested items will be used to benefit students for years to come: Bright bins, thoughtful posters, and engaging materials that can be used throughout the year are essential to maximizing investments so that the greatest number of scholars can be reached.
An organized classroom means that the teacher is organized and the students are organized and comfortable. Organization is key to creating routines and clear expectations. It is important for students to have designated areas for storing materials. Work stations provide specialized areas where students will work with requested materials to enrich the objectives that are being taught on any particular day.
