Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 2nd grade at a Title 1 project-based learning school in Redwood City. Students learn to be more independent academically and social emotionally. They collaborate with each other through project-based learning and hands-on activities.
My 2nd grade students are loving, energetic, and full of potential.
They are a part of a thriving classroom community. I enjoy seeing students learn through playing games and interacting with others. The look on their faces when they have learned something new is incredibly rewarding. My students love reading, math, and project-based learning. I would love the opportunity to provide the resources and activities for my students so they can continuing building these skills.
My Project
My school district is planning on returning to in-person learning in January 2021. I would love to provide different flexible seating options for my students. My students' health and safety will be extremely important when they are in the classroom. I want to get flexible seating options that can easily be cleaned and are comfortable for them.
I want to provide the most comfortable and flexible options for my students including yoga mats and nap mats.
With these options, my students will be able to choose between sitting at their desks or laying underneath their desk in order to be more comfortable when they are at school. Both of these mats are easy to clean and to fold in the classroom.
