Today, more than ever, students need exposure to technological skills. I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Literacy Skills in a school that recently progressed from a low performing school to one showing great achievement gains in literacy.
Our school was forced to cut our technology program and many of my school's families do not have direct access to the internet. As a literacy instructor, I recognize that in today's world, students need to be literate in not only reading and writing, but to show literacy skills in a technological way.
We need an LCD projector so I may include interactive media during direct instruction, so students can deliver presentations with visuals beyond posters, and so students become accustomed to using technology everyday.
Your help will ensure that my students attain the literacy life skills necessary to succeed in life beyond the classroom.
