This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

Our school is nestled in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, an old, historic area in the north valley area of Albuquerque.

Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn.

My Project

The 70s was a magic decade (in more ways than one!)! Disco, hippies, tie dye, and nature. This project will give the children the opportunity to explore art using textiles. They are so comfortable with crayons, markers, paint, etc., this will give them a chance to find out what can be by just tying knots!

This project will contribute to better development of pre-planning and execution or work they do in all areas of the curriculum.

They will learn to have patience and understand that mistakes can always be fixed! They will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas with their classmates as they work.
