Restoring Baseball and Softball at Harding Middle School
My students need gloves, balls, batting tees, and training equipment to help them succeed on the baseball field. Thank you in advance for your support.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In efforts to continue to build our baseball and softball program at Harding Middle School, we are looking for equipment that our students can use to enhance their athletic abilities.
Our students are a great group of kids, they walk into our school every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day and ready to hit the practice field so they can excel in sports.
Working in inner-city Philadelphia where equipment and resources are limited. Many of our students-athletes don't get to experience the things a lot of other students in more prosperous schools do because they simply don't have access to it. My students-athletes are DESERVING and should be able to experience the same activities that their counterparts in other schools and communities do.
My Project
A lot of our students do not have the necessary resources to be able to provide proper baseball and softball equipment. We will use the gloves, batting tees, training equipment during practice and during the games. They will also be used by kids in the future. The district does not provide enough funds for us to properly equip our baseball or softball team. It would be very much appreciated if you could help our students obtain the necessary equipment.
They will be using the materials for games and practices.
Our goal is to improve the equipment for our baseball and softball teams. We have been playing with old equipment for years and would like to have some of the same upgraded equipment as the other schools we play. Practice is difficult when we do not have enough good practice balls for everyone and we only have one good team bat that was donated. We are also going to share our DonorsChoose.org link on social media and share it with friends and family in order to spread the word.
This project is important to our school and community because we do not have many resources to invest into our program and every little thing will help our student-athletes.
