This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
In a thriving school of about 700 students, I teach students in grades Kindergarten, First, and Second grades diagnosed with Autism. My students are always trying to build on becoming respectful, responsible, and kind learners. We are also privileged to serve military families and children of Barksdale Air Force Base Airmen. Each student helps diversify our population, bringing in knowledge and experience of various cultures and traditions.
No matter the academic or ability level, all of my students have different learning styles that I strive to meet every day.
My Project
These materials are the many things that are bought on the side by me to help add more fun and excitement to daily lessons through hands-on learning or moving about the classroom. My students will use the glue and stamp pads to create crafts and fun fine motor activities. The play dough will give the students something to do during sensory, free time, and fine more activities. The pens will be used as rewards to allow students to write in something other than pencil, and they will also be used for the students to create more creative work.
Having these supplies on hand will allow me to continue to give the students creative ways to complete their work on a daily basis.
The students love creating their own projects, and I love seeing them have fun while learning!
