Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first grade teacher at an inner city school. I am privileged to work with 50 amazing children who are eager to learn and use any learning tools they are given. My students have a tremendous amount of learning to do this upcoming year, and most of it happens from repetition and practice.
They like to read, participate, and ask questions!
Working as an elementary teacher in a low-income and high poverty inner city district is challenging itself. My students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Whichever challenge they meet, I strive to provide my students with the creative and meaningful learning experience they deserve!
My Project
Being half way through the school year, we have used almost all of our school supplies.
Working in an inner city school district, I have at least two parents who will bring in materials for their child, while the rest simply can't afford to..
My student's Homework Folders and Centers Folders have ripped, been torn apart, gone through rain & snow, and have been crumbled so bad that we simply just need new durable ones! Pencils boxes will help my students in keeping their pencils, crayons and money earned from our Classroom Store in a safe place and not get lost!
We want impactful learning to take place and continue until June with the right resources but I can't do it without your help!
