This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Everybody remembers how exciting the beginning of the school year is! One of my favorite things as a kid, was going to buy new school supplies. Think about if your parents or guardians could not afford new school supplies.
My students are very active third graders.
Our school is in rural Georgia. We are a public Title I school. My students absolutely love to learn! About 90% of my class come from a low income family. The students in my class are very eager to excel but become discouraged when they do not have their own basic materials.
My Project
One of the most exciting times for young children is the first week of school! New clothes, new shoes, and new school supplies can be very exciting for students get ready to start school back. For some students, the beginning of the year is not so exciting.
A lot of my students come from low income families who cannot afford to provide their children with the necessary items for the beginning of the school year. This can have a negative effect on self-esteem. With the help of donors providing basic materials, we can eliminate the negative effects on these students' lives. My students need markers, pencils, crayons and other basic school supplies to start the new school year off!
The beginning of the school year should be a very happy time for all students.
With your donation, we can help make the start of school an exciting time for students who may not be able to purchase the basic school supplies they need.
